You run a delivery business in Lagos. Maybe it is small chops out of Lekki, sneakers from Yaba, or phone accessories off Computer Village. The orders come in on WhatsApp. They come in at 6am. They come in at 11pm. They come in while you are stuck in Third Mainland traffic.
You need Beakle to pick up the slack. The good news: the bones of the setup take about ten minutes. The KB will keep getting sharper for a week or two as you watch real chats. That is fine. Ship rough, polish live.
Here is the run.
Step 1 — Pair WhatsApp (2 minutes)
Open Beakle. Hit Add Service. Pick the WhatsApp number you want connected — most owners use a dedicated business line, not their personal one. Banned-number risk is real, and you do not want a customer ban knocking your private chats offline.
Beakle shows a QR code. Open WhatsApp on your phone, tap Linked Devices, scan. Two minutes, sometimes less. If you see the green dot in the dashboard, you are live.
If you want the deeper walkthrough on this step, the Getting Started guide has the screenshots.
Step 2 — Pick Product Sales as Your Business Type
On the wizard, choose Product Sales. Not General. Not Booking. Product Sales tells Beakle that your customers are buying physical items, that price questions matter, that "do you deliver to Ajah?" is a real conversation it needs to handle well.
The business type changes the prompts under the hood. Picking the wrong one is the single fastest way to get mediocre replies.
Step 3 — Voice Settings That Sound Nigerian, Not Robotic
Three knobs to set:
- Tone: Friendly. Not Formal. Lagos customers read "Good day esteemed customer" as either a scam or a bank — neither is what you want.
- Language: Nigerian English. This unlocks pidgin understanding on the comprehension side and pulls the reply style closer to how you actually talk.
- Message length: Balanced. Short answers feel cold. Long answers feel like a customer service script from 2014. Balanced lands between two and four sentences for most replies.
Skip emojis unless your brand is built on them. The catalog speaks louder than a smiley.
Step 4 — The Starter KB (this is the work)
The Knowledge Base is where Beakle gets its facts. Without it, the AI will guess. With a tight KB, it answers like you.
Add five to ten entries. Quality over quantity. Merge related facts into one entry — splitting "Lekki delivery price" and "Lekki delivery time" into two entries makes the model less reliable, not more.
Here is a starter pack for a Lagos delivery business:
Delivery zones and prices
Same-day delivery available across Lagos. Island (Lekki Phase 1, VI, Ikoyi): ₦2,500. Mainland (Yaba, Surulere, Ikeja): ₦3,000. Outskirts (Ajah, Sangotedo, Festac, Magodo): ₦3,500. Outside Lagos: ₦5,000 to ₦12,000 via GIG, 2 to 4 working days.
Payment options
We accept bank transfer (Opay, Moniepoint, GTBank), card on delivery (POS), and cash on delivery within Lagos. No crypto. Pay on delivery only available for orders under ₦50,000 with a verified phone number.
Return policy
Returns accepted within 48 hours of delivery if the item is unused and in original packaging. Customer pays return shipping. Refunds processed within 3 to 5 working days to the original payment method. No returns on sale items or custom orders.
Opening hours
We respond to messages 8am to 9pm WAT, Monday to Saturday. Sundays we are closed but you can still drop your order — we process Monday morning. Deliveries dispatched same-day for orders confirmed before 2pm.
Contact and escalation
For delivery issues, payment problems, or wholesale inquiries, ask to speak to the manager. We will respond within 30 minutes during business hours.
That is five entries. Add another three to five specific to your business — common product questions, sizing for fashion, warranty for electronics, allergens for food. Done.
Step 5 — Upload the Catalog
Three to five products is enough to start. You can always add more.
For each product, put in:
- Name — clear, searchable. "Air Force 1 White (Size 42)" beats "Cool Sneakers".
- Price — in ₦. If you have wholesale and retail tiers, the catalog supports both.
- Variants — sizes, colors, capacity. For fashion, list every size you stock. For electronics, list the storage and color combos.
- Photo — one clean shot per product. Customers will ask for more in chat anyway, but Beakle uses the cover image when surfacing items.
The full Catalog guide covers the import format if you want to bulk-upload from a spreadsheet.
A note on accuracy: do not list a product you do not have. Beakle will quote it, customer will order it, you will look bad. Mark out-of-stock items as inactive — Beakle will stop offering them.
Step 6 — Escalation Group and the First Test
Create a WhatsApp group called "[Your Business] — Beakle Alerts". Add yourself and any team members who handle orders. In the dashboard, paste the group's invite link or scan it from the settings.
This is where escalations land. Customer asks something Beakle cannot answer with confidence — bulk discount, complaint, wedding-day delivery question — it pings the group and pauses the conversation until you reply. You reply via the group, customer hears it on their end, business keeps moving.
Now send a test. From a friend's phone, message your business line: "Do you deliver to Ajah and how much?"
You should see Beakle reply within a few seconds, quoting the ₦3,500 zone from your KB. If it does, you are live. If it hallucinates a different number, your KB entry needs sharpening — the wording or the merge is off.
Step 7 — Pricing Flow and Payment Instructions
Last step. Drop your payment details into the KB as one entry:
Bank transfer details: [Bank Name] — [Account Number] — [Account Name]. Send proof of payment to this chat after transfer. We confirm within 10 minutes during business hours and dispatch the same day if before 2pm.
Beakle will surface this when customers say "I want to pay" or "send your account details". No need to type it ten times a day. No more half-finished transfers because you were on the road.
What Polishing Looks Like
Ten minutes gets you live. The next two weeks are where you watch the conversations Beakle holds, spot the corrections you would have made, and feed them back as KB updates or /qa corrections in the escalation group. Each correction trains the next answer.
By week three, most owners say it feels like a junior staff member who actually reads the manual. Set it up today. Polish it as you go.
