Beakle Now Reads Your Google Calendar for Bookings

Beakle now reads your Google Calendar and only suggests times you are actually free. Stop the double-booking. Stop the back-and-forth. Stop losing clients.

Beakle Now Reads Your Google Calendar for Bookings

A customer messages your salon at 11pm asking for a Saturday slot. Your assistant guesses "2pm works." But you already blocked 2pm for your daughter's school run. Now you owe an apology, a reschedule, and probably a discount.

That ends today.

Beakle now reads your Google Calendar before suggesting any booking time. If you are busy, Beakle does not offer it. Full stop.

How it works

Beakle connects to your Google Calendar with read-only access. Read-only means Beakle can see when you are busy or free, nothing more. Beakle cannot create events, cannot edit anything, cannot delete a single appointment. Your calendar stays in your hands.

When a customer asks for a time, Beakle checks your real availability for the day they mentioned, then replies with slots that actually exist on your schedule. No more "let me confirm and get back to you." No more double-booked Saturdays.

You set how far ahead Beakle looks. Most salons and clinics use 7 days. Photographers booking weddings use 30 or 60. Dentists with packed schedules sometimes go 14. Your choice.

What Beakle sees and what it does not

Beakle reads:

  • Whether a time block is busy or free
  • The duration of busy blocks (so it knows when you are free again)
  • Whether an event blocks your day or is marked "free"

Beakle does not read:

  • Event titles in customer-facing replies
  • Event descriptions, attendee emails, attached files
  • Anything from calendars you did not connect

Event titles are used internally only — to help Beakle understand context for your own questions in the owner chat. They are never repeated to customers. If you have a calendar entry titled "Lunch with Tunde," your customer will only ever see "I am not free at 1pm. How about 2:30pm or 4pm?"

This matters. Your personal life is yours. The calendar integration is a busy-or-free signal, not a leak.

How to connect it

Open your dashboard. Go to the service you want to enable. Open the Integrations tab. Find Google Calendar. Click connect, sign in with the Google account that owns the calendar, approve the read-only permission.

Set your lookahead window in days. Save.

That is the whole setup. Less than two minutes if your Google session is still active. For the full walkthrough including which calendar to pick if you have several, read the Google Calendar guide.

Why this changes the booking game

If you run a service business — salon, dentist, photographer, mechanic, physiotherapist, makeup artist, driving instructor, tutor — booking accuracy is the difference between a five-star review and a refund.

Before today, every booking conversation had a hidden risk. Your assistant suggests a time, the customer agrees, you check your calendar, you panic, you message back with apologies. The customer feels jerked around. Sometimes they go to a competitor who confirmed first time.

Now Beakle only offers what is actually open. The customer picks. You see it in your escalation group. You confirm with one tap.

For salons in Computer Village handling 40-plus walk-ins and DM bookings a week, this is the single biggest source of double-bookings, gone. For dentists running tight 45-minute slots between Wuse appointments, this is the assistant who actually checks before promising. For wedding photographers fielding Saturday inquiries from Lagos diaspora returning home — your weekends just stopped overlapping.

What we are watching

This is a read-only first version. We deliberately shipped without write access because the cost of a wrong auto-created event is higher than the cost of one extra owner tap. If demand is loud, write access ships next.

We are watching for edge cases: all-day events that should not block timed slots, time-zone drift for owners traveling, recurring blocks that need to be respected differently from one-off blocks. If you spot anything weird, message us in the owner chat with /help.

Turn it on this week. Your Saturday will thank you.
